Thanksgiving

Cultural note: Thanksgiving is an American celebration. Most countries don't celebrate it, and if they do it's on a different date. In Canada for instance, they celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October.

So this little story in French is intended to describe in a few words how people celebrate Thanksgiving.

On the menu: turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and for dessert a pumpkin pie or pecan pie.

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

Thanksgiving means "to give thanks", so it gives us the opportunity to say thank you for everything that makes us happy. It really is the celebration of gratitude.

For the occasion, here is an idea : let’s decorate the gratitude tree. Print it along with the small leaves on which you will write or draw what you want to say thank you for. Then you will stick them on the tree, and little by little, fill your tree.

Invite your family and friends to participate. For Thanksgiving and throughout the year!
